Our Mission...

Our mission is to stop animal cruelty in any form, neuter and spay all dogs in rescue, provide vaccinations and other viable medical care needed to provide quality of life, and to find loving homes for all the dogs entrusted to us, whether they are relinquished to us by owners, shelters, breeders, or come in as strays. We are committed to doing all we can to educate those who adopt from us and the public about the Yorkshire Terrier breed.

Who We Are and What We Do...

Yorkie Rescue Colorado is a fledging, breed-specific, re-homing, rescue and adoption agency. We are all unpaid volunteers who love Yorkies because we know that they make the world a better place. All our rescues are treated with the same love and kindness we give our own dogs.

We believe...

    that no animal should be hungry
    that no animal should be unloved or uncared for
    that every Yorkie deserves a happy life with a loving family
    that we are obligated to verify the information supplied by adoption applicants
    that potential adopters have rights too

We also believe in a Donor Bill of Rights...

By donating to us, you are giving us your trust. We will never violate that trust and your generosity will never be taken for granted. If donations are requested for a particular animal, those funds will be used to help defray the medical expenses of that animal. Every penny received is spent for the benefit of rescued Yorkies.

You have the right to...

    be treated fairly
    receive timely communication regarding your adoption application
    to be told everything we know about a particular animal

If we feel another dog would be a better match; we will tell you. Upon adoption you are given copies of all medical records, feeding instructions and anything else that may be of importance for a successful adoption. We will stay in contact with each family for as long as they want our help or advice.
